When Cindy Gelormini prepared a eulogy for her aunt’s funeral and asked family members what they remembered most about a woman who had lived 100 years, their answer was simply:

“She made good meatballs.”

Cindy couldn’t shake the thought. After a century of life, was that really all there was to say?

That moment became a wake-up call—and the inspiration for More than Meatballs, a deeply personal memoir about pain, healing, forgiveness, faith, loss, and the pursuit of a life that leaves a lasting legacy.

Cindy’s journey began with a childhood marked by physical and emotional abuse. After giving her life to Jesus, she embarked on a transformational journey of deliverance and inner healing, confronting wounds that had shaped her for years—including bitterness, anger, and a root of rejection. Learning to forgive her father became a turning point, opening the door to freedom and answers to prayers she had carried for twenty years.

Cindy also shares her painful experience of leaving a church that had become a source of trauma and healing from spiritual abuse and church hurt. Her story is a reminder that even when people hurt us, healing is possible.

Then came the unimaginable loss of her profoundly autistic son, Robbie, who passed away in 2017. Through the depths of grief, Cindy discovered that God could carry her when she could no longer carry herself. She reached a breakthrough one night where she chose joy instead of a road toward depression, standing on the verse, “Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
